Keep the space clean
Having a clean space that is free of trash, snacks, & random objects is so important! Having chaos in the background of your photos will make your photos look more chaotic. I love photos like this one because there is minimal clutter in the background! There's only so much photoshopping I can do to remove all the clutter in the background so do me a solid and keep the area clutter free!
Consider the Lighting
In all honesty, some venue's getting ready suites are just not ideal for photos, especially groom's suites! A really good way to elevate your getting ready photos in this case is to stage a few photos in a more ideal location! Pick a spot that has better lighting and take a few minutes to take some photos in better lighting! I love this bride's photo as an example, we used the shadows from the shades to get this really creative staged getting ready shot!
Don't be afraid of non-candid photos
A shocking statement from a documentary style photographer but hear me out! Sometimes you have to plan out a photo in order to achieve your desired results. I want you to have beautiful photos so that means some moments I'll need to direct you more than others. Directing photos like putting on a necklace, putting on shoes, spraying perfume, and zipping up the dress can still be genuine moments but lead in a way that makes them stunning!
