With scenic overlooks along the Appalachian Trail, hidden waterfalls, and gorgeous canyon views, there are countless locations that provide the perfect backdrop for all kinds of unique wedding days! One of my favorite things about elopements is that they allow couples to focus on celebrating their relationship in a place that feels meaningful and beautiful. As a North Georgia elopement photographer, I've spent countless hours exploring mountain towns, hiking trails, overlooks, waterfalls, and state parks throughout Georgia and the surrounding states to find the best locations for my couples!! 1. Preacher's Rock
Located near Dahlonega, Preacher's Rock is one of the most iconic overlooks along the Appalachian Trail in Georgia. The hike is moderate and relatively short compared to many mountain overlooks, making it perfect for couples who want incredible views without committing to an all-day trek. The rocky overlook provides panoramic mountain scenery and some of the best sunset views in North Georgia! And, it happens to be one of my personal favorite spots!!

2. Anna Ruby Falls
For couples who love waterfalls, Anna Ruby Falls is hard to beat! Located near Helen, GA, this location features two waterfalls that merge into one surrounded by gorgeous green forest. The paved trail makes it accessible for nearly everyone while still feeling tucked away in nature!

3. Cloudland Canyon State Park
Cloudland Canyon offers some of the most dramatic lookouts in Georgia! Beautiful cliffs, canyons, waterfalls, and miles of trails, this state park provides a variety of absolutely stunning backdrops for elopement photos! You can also can choose from easy-access overlooks or more adventurous hiking locations.

4. Pickens County Courthouse
Not every elopement has to involve hiking boots! For couples planning a simple courthouse ceremony, Pickens County Courthouse offers a beautiful and stress-free option. After your ceremony, there are plenty of scenic mountain roads, overlooks, and downtown locations nearby for portraits, plus the courthouse exterior is a fun "urban" vibe!
